Bidges of Madison County

It was a wonderful weekend!!!

We spent the weekend over in the western part of the state. We visited the birthplace of John Wayne and the Bridges of Madison County. We drove out yesterday and sppent the night at a Bed and Breakfast. It was lovely.

Yes, it has a pool and we were the only ones there it was wonderful... Played and had a great time!

Amazing John was born in a tiny little place. Lyle was in 7th heaven! I didn't realize that John was in so many movies. the ladies that work there watch movies all day... The little house had all sorts of pictures. I guess they are planning a bigger and better museum. We may have to visit again. Lyle's hero!

Talking with the California Gang

So in a previous blog I was telling you how wonderful video phoning is... Well, tonight we got the chance to talk to Rob, Cara and James. What fun. Rob modeled his Father's Day present.... His first tie! How cool is that?
James is watching us on the monitor. We did get some smiles from him. He would wander away then come back to see again.

James likes to clean... must be a little person thing. He has a little vaccum, broom and dust pan. You can see the broom in the picture. We all had a blast talking and laughing. It makes the distance seem a less this way. Isn't technology great!!
Anyone else out there have a video cam - let's talk - drop me a line. I especially like Skype.
I hope all the Dads out there had a wonderful Father's Day. You are all very special!

So tonight is the first time we have video called in a long long time. This is what we saw as Avery and Tanner tried to figure out what to do. Avery can be a little chatterbox on the phone but didn't seem to know what to do since she could see us. Tanner wanted to push buttons. It actually went quite well. How funny! I would encourage anyone to do this with far away family and friends.
Mommy gave Shea to Avery for a minute. Shea didn't say much though. Avery says that Shea cries then she gets quiet. She is a naturall little mommy.

Last Week Lyle and I spent the week in Kansas. We went down to help Kristie and Quinton after Shea's birth. Quinton would get up each morning with Tanner and feed him breakfast. Most mornings Avery would come in and wake me up and we would go downstairs just as it was time for Quinton to leave. We would be quiet so Kristie could sleep for a bit longer.
Then we would get going - off to the zoo, firestation, park splash pad... What a wonderful week.

I tell you that evey minute is is fun, but there is no doubt that young kids are for young people these "old" people need some rest!!! So for the second night in a row we are off to bed early...

Love to all and enjoy the pictures!

Fun at the Wilson house

Lyle
and Shea cuddle on the couch. Lyle even got a bit comfortable picking her up.

Tanner loves to play in the mud. Give him a tote with water and some dirt and he will be happy for hours. Now he certainly will not be clean!!

Avery adores her little sister, at least for now. Shea isn't taking any of her toys right now either!!
Shea with her Aunt Sandy blanket. It has a little angel on it... I told Sandy when she started it that it must be for a little girl!!!

Tanner loves his little sister also.... but soesn't ask to hold her quite as much.

Avery likes to hold Avery and asks several times a day to hold her. She gets this soft sweet look on her face as she looks at Shea.

Proud Papa

Is it possible even prouder Nana!!!

A week before Kristie had Shea Mom and I drove down to Kansas to visit for the weekend. We had fun playing with the kids.
Tanner was going through a tantrum stage after naps! Wow, he could hand on to those moods!

Grams trying to talk Tanner out of his mood! She was not successful.

Daddy showing and explaining different drills to Avery. They are looking at a drilling magazine. He later paged through the magazine and she told him what they were. She has an amazing memory.

Quick trip to Kansas

Avery covered in leggos and Daddy filling tanner's pants with leggos.... They really do spend a lot of time with the leggos!

Papa and Avery sharing a snack...

Tanner in timeout! Well, if a guy has to spend time on the stairs he might as well lie down!

We decided nto run to Kansas last weekend. Well, the plans got changed and we ran down there on Thursday to beat the snow.. as you can see it was a smart move because on Friday it DID snow. We had a lovely time.

I wasn't outside (I know that's not surprising, for those of you that know me) I guess Tanner ate his weight in snow and Avery didn't like the cold and especially didn't like it when the snow got in her gloves.
Now I will be busy getting ready for the seminar that begins April 23... More pictures then - Love to all!

Hello, Just thought I would put a little note here for those of you that check. We are well and doing fine. Lyle is working hard at work and usually has some evening work to do...
I have been working hard to get ready for the Spring seminar my EGA group is hosting. It has been in the work for the last 2 years and I am ready for it to begin.
I am also excited because Mom will come and attend with me and the next weekend we will take a trip to see Kristie and family.
Very quickly after that the new Wilson will be born...
So lots of fun in store - pictures will result and I will post.
Love to all, Anne and Lyle
